Psychotherapy

Claremont's low cost psychotherapy service is part of an overall aim at Claremont to create a multi-disciplinary centre interested in creativity, well being and personal and social development.

A formal referral isn't necessary, although many of our clients come via a recommendation from their GP.

Arts Therapies

In cooperation with the British Association of Art Therapists, we run a low cost one-to-one art therapy service, open to adults resident in Islington. We also offer other forms of arts therapy, including music, dance and movement, and drama therapies.

Social Prescription

Claremont's Social Prescription project, funded by Islington Giving and Claremont, is open to Islington residents. We are especially looking to engage people aged 55 or older and who are isolated. The project is aimed primarily at encouraging GP's and front-line NHS staff to refer people to our services but people can also self-refer.

Portfolio Building & Other Courses

Claremont provides a number of evening classes and courses, most notably its Portfolio Building course, partners with other organizations to provide courses, and also lets space to others to run their own courses and activities.

Learning

Nearly all of Claremont's regular programme of services can be seen as containing elements of, if not being all about, learning. This includes our reading group (currently reading and discussing Milton's Paradise Lost), our creative writing and wide range of arts classes, our various personal exploration and development groups and our special events and talks (The History of Tea, Modern Architecture, etc.).
