Claremont is currently developing a set of services for children. This work has arisen out of our intergenerational work and from requests from local schools for help in delivering life skills activities,
especially those relating to Interpersonal Communication Skills (verbal/nonverbal communication, active listening, expressing feelings, giving feedback - without blaming - and receiving feedback), Empathy (ability to listen and understand another's needs and circumstances and express that understanding) and Cooperation and Teamwork (expressing respect for others' contributions and different styles, assessing one's own abilities and contributing to the group).
As with all of our work, these services have an arts and creativity basis, which when done sensitively, can unlock all kinds of wonder and joy!
As you'd expect, all of our participating staff and facilitators go through an Enhanced CRB check, have specific training to work with children, and adhere to our safeguarding policy (which you can read in our Governance section).
We will publish more information about these services in due course.
